PM Worship

We are one of the few churches in the area that offer a Sunday evening worship opportunity. For us this time is not merely something we do out of duty to tradition it serves a vital function in the life of our church body. We have a number of families and individuals who simply cannot attend Sunday morning services on a regular basis because of work demands. A number of our youth workers are busy during the morning worship and this gives them an extra opportunity to partake of the Lord's Supper and participate in worship. The rest of us just appreciate the extra teaching.

Currently we follow the following format for each Sunday of the month

  • first Sunday: Our associate Eric brings a message
  • second Sunday: Alternates between our Mayberry fellowship and Family Night. Mayberry Fellowships start at 4:30 with a fellowship meal. Everyone brings a dish and we share good food and good company. At 6PM we have our regular worship time we watch an episode from the Andy Griffith show and have a short Bible devotion related to the moral lesson in the show. Family nights are when we have everyone together. We sing lively songs the kids can relate to and then we have a short devotional thought suitable for all ages.
  • third Sunday: Eric brings a message
  • last Sunday: End of the Month Sing--this is a special worship time where we learn new songs take song requests and have two short devotions by different men in the church.
  • On Months with five Sundays we have a guest speaker on the fourth Sunday. Our elders and other leaders take this opportunity to preach full sermons. It takes us out of our comfort zone and it's refreshing to hear different points of view.

The Sunday evening service runs from about 45 min to an hour. If you are missing church in the morning take advantage of this opportunity to visit with us. You'll be glad you did.
